MYRA

Hey I’m Myra!

Born and raised in China, shaped by 12 transformative years in New Zealand, and now embracing a new chapter in Singapore.

I work in the Data & AI industry, where I help businesses turn complex ideas into real-world impact. I’m also a first-time, full-time, single mom to a 1.5-year-old daughter, my joy, my teacher, and my daily reminder of what truly matters.

This space is where I share insights, stories, and dreams, on life, tech, motherhood, and everything in between.

What I Stand For

I believe in consistency over intensity, simplicity over chaos, and real over perfect.

I’m a minimalist (my toddler constantly challenges that). I care about clean design, intentional living, and using tech with purpose.

I also believe that women, especially mothers, deserve more space, more voice, and more support. That’s why I started the SheSays podcast: a platform for honest conversations with women who inspire, struggle, lead, and grow.

What I Do

By day, I work in the Data & AI space, helping organisations build scalable, ethical, and intelligent systems.

I’ve spoken at TEDx and tech conferences, led major cloud transformation projects, and coached teams on turning strategy into action. I also care deeply about the human side of technology, communication, trust, empathy, and impact.

A Journey in Public Speaking

English wasn’t my first language. I used to struggle just to express basic ideas, let alone speak on a stage.
But I kept showing up.

Through Toastmasters (8+ years), coaching, and relentless practice, I learned not just how to speak, but how to connect. Today, I use my voice to teach, inspire, and advocate.

Women, Motherhood & Me

Motherhood reshaped my world, and revealed a quiet truth:
Women do so much, often with so little support.

We hit pause on careers. We carry invisible loads. We adapt, constantly. And too often, we downplay our value.

I started SheSays to challenge that. I want to meet and learn from more women who are redefining success on their own terms, and share those stories with others.

Consistency is my theme

  • I’ve kept a journal since I was 10, over 20 years of reflection, growth, and random scribbles.

  • I’ve played badminton for 12+ years consistently (used to represent New Zealand Division one in amateur league).

  • I used to have the same breakfast, same brand, same combo, for 8 straight years.

  • I’ve danced for 10+ years (on and off), hold a Pilates coaching cert, and just picked up piano.

  • I’ve traveled to 30+ countries, but the adventure of motherhood is by far the wildest.

  • I played golf 5+ years over 30+ courses across New Zealand, China, and Fiji.

The Real Talk

I never married, but I chose to become a mom anyway.
When things didn’t work out with my daughter’s father, I made a tough call, one that came with heartbreak, but also deep clarity.

Today, I live with my daughter and our helper in Singapore. I’m not actively looking for a relationship, not because I don’t believe in love, but because I’ve learned to value peace, presence, and self-respect more than ever.

Let’s Connect

If any part of this resonated with you, whether you’re a working parent, a woman in tech, a dreamer chasing stability, or someone navigating new beginnings, I’d love to connect.

Drop me a note. Or just keep reading.
There’s a lot more to come.
